Kentucky Artisan Distillery Presents: A Journey with Jefferson’s Bourbon Founder, Trey Zoeller - 8:30pm
Friday Evening VIP Tasting Experience
There are few things more exciting than being able to enjoy a whiskey that you likely can’t find at any bar in the world. And on Friday night, we are giving our guests that exact opportunity! We’ll light the way to our VIP Tasting Tent for a tasting of two incredible one-of-a-kind bourbons with Jefferson’s Founder, Trey Zoeller: Jefferson’s Journey and Jefferson’s Kentucky Aged.
Jefferson’s founder, Trey Zoeller conducted a bold experiment when he suspected that river travel was a key factor responsible in giving early bourbon its robust flavor. So, he recreated a true-to-life river journey by loading two full barrels on a small boat and embarking on a voyage down the Ohio River…and eventually to Brooklyn, New York! A journey (with no shortage of unexpected perils) that lasted over a year. At the same time, two barrels from the same distillation were set aside and aged traditionally on land in a bourbon warehouse. Can you taste the difference between the two? What changed? Which is…better? You’ll have an incredibly rare chance to taste both and decide for yourself if aged through a river journey or time spent in one place makes a better bourbon!
Both unique products were released earlier this year and these bottles have only been available for purchase at the Kentucky Artisan Distillery in Crestwood, Kentucky and The Frazier Museum in downtown Louisville.
Guests will also have the chance to imbibe other samples from the distillery including Jefferson’s Reserve Pritchard Hill Cabernet Finish and Jefferson’s Oceans “Aged At Sea” Bourbon! These custom creations are a big leap from your everyday bourbon sipper! Along with the tasting, Jefferson’s Bourbon and The Kentucky Artisan Distillery will send you home with a small souvenir as a memento of the event.
Experience Ticket Price: $68.90 (includes all taxes & fees).
